Le (not so) Grand Finale

For my final project for SSS, I brought my actual diary into class (I'm not sure how clear I was on that). My diary was filled with photos from this year, the past, and various things that are important to me in one way or another.
The hardest part for my entire project was coming out officially about my doubts in being a music student, and my thoughts of transferring next year. This semester has been incredibly stressful, and getting that off of my chest was terrifying in itself, but therapeutic at the same time. Now that it's out, I don't feel it as this huge secret, more of common knowledge.
I'm still not sure what my future will hold from here, but I'm hoping that music will continue to be important, no matter where I go or what I do.

  1. I wouldn't worry too much. I know that where ever to go you'll succeed if you want to. You have talent and don't forget that fact.

  2. You will do great things in life no matter what you pursue. You are a talented musician, but if that isn't where your heart is leading you, that's okay too. You will succeed no matter what. Plus, you are one awesome person! (:

  3. I think I can speak for everyone by saying that no own is gonna think any less of you because music is not what you wanna major in. I agree deciding is tough. (and I've always known I wanted to do music) I just have no idea as to what exactly I can do and succeed at and love doing. This is a path we all have to take. I believe following where ever your heart takes you is the path to real music. If your heart sings joy is all around. :]

  4. I truly believe you will be great and succeed in anything that you do Julia. You are such an amazing person and pretty brave for sharing your diary with us. I've always wanted to keep a journal but could never really keep up with it haha.

  5. I really enjoyed your presentation, Julia. And yes, it can be difficult to let others in on decisions that you haven't yet finalized. It's usually worth it, though, because then your classmates can become sounding boards that can help you figure things out. And don't worry--music will always remain a part of your life. And you need to do what YOU need to do.
